I remember when I was 10 or 11 when my family went to the Nags Head in Mickleover and got associated with David Dalton and helped him out by cleaning his house while David's mum was in a nursing home, was such a beautiful house I fell in love with it, David was a character, he was quirky and fun to be around, gave off a certain vibe, he made friends with certain characters at the Nags Head pub who had their problems and quirks but when I saw them with my mum it was a good atmosphere, used to talk alot about life in general, the 1970s alot too, it was their favourite era, sadly my mum passed away 20 years ago, then all those characters followed, then David was last, I kept meaning to go the Nags Head for years to say hello to David but then I realised his passing, that part of Mickleover will never be the same now, he was a very well known and cared for man, yes he had an upper class background but it didnt mean nothing to him, he chose people, he had an exploration of different backgrounds of people, and for his energy to that people loved him for who David was, he still had his upper class manners with him always like standing up a lady comes to the table and leaves etc, its a shame theres no photos of him anywhere at all
