VladasDAUNORASVal passed away suddenly but peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Wednesday, September 15, aged 92. Val was born in Kaunas, Lithuania. He came to England after the Second World War where he met Brenda, who was to become his wife of almost 70 years, when she passed away in February of this year. During his working life Val was employed by Rossendale Corporation as a bus driver and, in later years, worked as a heavy goods vehicle driver for Gaskells Needle Felt and J&E Transport. Val leaves daughters Helena and Jennifer. He was a much-loved grandad to the late Paul and to Rachael and David, he leaves nephews and nieces, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Val’s funeral service was due to take place at Burnley Crematorium on Thursday, September 30. Donations are being received to Rossendale Hospice c/o funeral director Alderson and Horan Funeral Service, Crawshawbooth.
