Idris WynneDAVIES(Retired Headmaster Rhos Helyg School)

9th June 2026 Peacefully in hospital of Arfryn, Hafod Road, Gwernaffield. Aged 97 years. Beloved husband of Enid, dearly loved father and father-in-law of Wynne and Daniela, Nick and Angela, a much loved Taid to Rhys, Owain, Hannah and Sarah, and to his great grandchildren Osian and Llewi.

Funeral Service at Capel Y Waun on Friday 3rd July at 11.30am followed by interment in Gwernaffield Church Cemetery.

Family flowers only but donations if desired towards Gwernaffield Churchyard Fund and Gwernaffield Church Hall.

I was at Rhos Helyg from 1965-1971 and Mr Davies was assistant head and then headmaster in my time there.
He was a brilliant teacher and if ever I bumped into him years after leaving Rhos Helyg he always remembered me and I was fortunate to see him at the 70th anniversary of Rhos Helyg and the first thing he asked me was -‘how’s business?’

Best headmaster ever, I left Rhos Helyg in 1982. Had some great times there and will never forget it. So sorry for your loss and condolences to all the family ❤️ RIP Mr Davies
