The obituary notice of Dr Dewi Richard Wynne DAVIES

Dewi was a fellow student at The Welsh National School of Medicine in Cardiff. We shared rooms at Richmond Road, Cathays, for three years. Dewi was a very nice man and was very popular. He was quiet and unassuming. He was very proud Welshman and used his native Tongue whenever it was possible,. Although he was quiet, he had a wicked sense of humour and this made him popular with our hosts Mr and Mrs Bennett.
Dewi was popular in the year group and he kept in contact with the late Bede Hill, Chris Madoc Jones, Jim and Jackie Hill, Esyllt to name a few. He often spoke warmly of his elective period in Canada and I understand he remained in close contact with the Canadians the rest of his life.
His life was much less enjoyable after the death of his close friend Peg but he remained in contact with her family. In later years he did not enjoy good health but he was lovingly supported by his twin brother Emyr.
Caroline and I visited Dewi about twice a year but it’s a good few years since he was able to come South - it may have been the last reunion. He was a good and lovely man and I know I speak on behalf of the whole medical year when I say may his soul rest in peace.
