This was the retirement poem that we wrote from Woodside to Sue, we will all miss her, she looked after us all from the day we walked in the door till the day she left.

A Fond Farewell to Sue the Nurse

Sue the nurse is leaving — it’s time to say goodbye,
No more charts or clinic calls, just clear blue sky!
She’s traded scrubs for sandals and workdays for play,
Off on a holiday, every single day!

She hated computers (they hated her back),
Her mouse clicks were battles, her screens always black.
But face-to-face care? Oh, she was the best —
With kindness and laughter, she outshone the rest.

Loved by her patients, admired by peers,
She’s mopped up the mess and wiped away tears.
But now there’s a question that gives us the ouch —
Who’s going to sort out the doctors’ couch?!

So raise a glass high, give a cheer and round of applause,
For Sue’s off to nap, and forget about the wounds and gauze.
Retirement suits you — go laugh, rest and roam,
But don’t be surprised if we call from back home!
