JoyceDOHERTY(1939 - 2025) After a long fight with illness, Joy passed away in her sleep on 29th June 2025. She will be sorely missed by her daughter Christine, granddaughters, brothers and sister, and all family members around the world.

Joy, her husband Eddie and daughter Christine moved to Nottingham in the early 1970s, living in the Meadows and Colwick before settling in Netherfield in the 1990s. She worked in a bakery, electronics factory and for over 10 years as a home help.

True to her scouse heritage she had a quick and ready sense of humour, always able to make the most of any occasion she enjoyed life. In later years she was a carer for Eddie who passed away in 2022.

Joy did not want a funeral. For anyone who wants to meet other friends and family members to reminisce and swap stories we will hold a coffee morning at the community centre off Rochester Ave starting at 10.30 on Thursday 24th July Donations in memory can be made to the Nottinghamshire Deaf Society or on the day of the coffee morning.

For our dear Auntie Joyce

It's hard to say goodbye to our Auntie Joyce. She brought so much genuine joy into our lives, and we'll always remember the happiness she brought to those around her. Our young daughters won't have the chance to get to know Joyce as well as we would have liked, but we'll tell them all about the wonderful woman who was always there with so much joy. Joyce, you'll be missed more than words can say. Thank you for the memories and the love.

Little nana or Joy you may have been small in stature but definitely big in personality and heart. You and Eddie came into our lives/family when Andy met Christine. We have had some great family gatherings and made fabulous memories. You may be gone but never forgotten and always in our 💜
