ChristopherDOODYIt is with great sadness the family announce the sudden passing of Chris aged 46 years of Macclesfield. Dearly loved son of Irmgard Doody and the late Arthur Doody, loving brother of Patrick, Martin, Nicola and Heidi, much loved brother-in-law of Lorraine and Uwe, cherished uncle of Christina, Steven and Jennifer and treasured close friend of Wayne and Kat.

Having lived in Essex, Leighton Buzzard, Hemel Hempstead and Roxton before settling in Macclesfield, Chris will be greatly missed by all his family and friends across the country.

We invite everyone whose life was touched by Chris to share your memories, stories, photos and tributes with our family by clicking "Add a tribute for Chris" below. Whether it's a funny moment, a kind gesture, a lesson he taught you, or simply what you loved most about him, your words will help keep his spirit alive in our hearts. Chris meant so much to so many people, every message will be treasured and remembered by our family for years to come.

A Celebration of Chris's Life will take place on Friday 29th May 2026 with service and committal at Macclesfield Crematorium at 12.15pm. Please dress in clothing you feel comfortable in whether formal or informal (casual).
Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent for either Wythenshawe Hospital or Cats Protection.
Wythenshawe Hospital as this is where Chris passed away, and the staff were amazing, the Cats Protection as Chris often donated to this charity on his birthday.

I will always remember Chris' dedication to the children in his care, as well as the excellent humour, resilience, and stoicism he had in abundance, and which, of course, enabled him to be such an effective. I don't know Chris as long or as well as I would have liked to, but he made me feel welcome in a new school, in a challenging context, and he was just as friendly and positive with everyone within his sphere of influence. The occasion when Chris camped out all night in a storm, alone, to protect the school's tent and equipment, dressed in combat shorts and a short sleeved shirt tells you everything about the kind of man he was. There are too few left like him around.

Chris was a kind, helpful and humble leader. His down to earth personality made him approachable and also successful with building student rapport. He was a pleasure to work with. My thoughts and love to all of his family and friends.
