So sad to read this notice. Garfield bought a ray of light towards all those he meet in New Zealand. I send my love to Jane and family

Can you please advise if this is the same Garfield who did some of his medical training at St Helier's in south London and also at Addenbrooke's in Cambridge please?

So sorry to only just now find out. I was just doing a search to find out how he was. We were fellow medical students and Karate club members at Oxford. I will always have fond memories of him. He was a larger than life personality, great fun, and a fiercely loyal friend. Those who knew him will always remember him. My deepest condolences to his family. Mo Chowdhury

I had the privilege of Garfield's friendship, companionship in sport and experiencing his gentle but mischievous humour for 6 years. Although we last saw one another almost 30 years ago, he is a friend I will never forget and I will miss him all the more on learning that he has passed away. Rest in Peace Garfield. My condolences to those closest to you for whom the sense of loss can be equalled only by the joy of having known you. All the best, Mark Glover
