Lionel DavidEVANSLionel David Evans of Penrhiwceiber has died, aged 84. Remembered by family and friends as a gentle, generous and fun loving man. He was a father, grandfather and great grandfather. David has been ill for a few years. When younger he was a powerful athlete, running for Mountain Ash Grammar School. David ran his own business as a coal merchant. He had a good retirement, enjoying reading, writing poetry, watching sitcoms, and was a regular contributor to the Leader's letters page. He and wife Phyllis spent holidays in the Middle East with daughter Nadene who died in 2017. Now resting with Nade in peace.
