FAYE LOUGHREYThe family of 15-year-old Derby girl Faye Loughrey have paid tribute to her after she saved six lives through organ donation after her death on 19 February, 2009.
She went to Lees Brook Community Sports College in Chaddesden.
Her mother, Sarah Fletcher, said in a family statement: "I'm so proud of her and so are the rest of the family. Even though she has fallen asleep, Faye made a difference and gave others life.
"A while back, Faye had been talking to her dad about people who had been organ donors, and she said, 'Dad, I think if I had a choice, I'd like to save another person's life'.
"So after a really long and hard discussion, we decided that's what she would have wanted.
"Faye has saved six lives, and another possible five."
Carol Dover, former head at the school, knew Faye throughout her time at Lees Brook.
She said: "Faye was a lovely girl. She had just been given a place in our sixth form from next September and, according to her parents, she was very excited about it.
"She seemed very focused on her future, was always looking out for other people and had a lovely smile whenever you saw her."
Faye was found with serious injuries at her home in Oakwood, and was taken to hospital, where doctors unsuccessfully battled to save her life.
Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances.
