WilfridFINCHOn Friday, November 3 Wilfred Finch passed away peacefully at Nelson Manor Care Home, aged 90 years. The dearly loved father of Simon, Tara, Heather, Dermot and Ellie and grandad to Brooke, Sammy, Daisy, Fredrik and Sydney. Wilf will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Monday, November 20 at 11.40am. Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Wilf may be made to Diabetes UK. All enquiries to

I’ve only just found out today (6 Feb 2026) about the passing of Wilf. I tried for years to find his whereabouts. My daughter messaged his Facebook account a few years ago but it didn’t seem active. I wanted to thank him personally for the influence he had on me when I was on the pre services course 1989-1990. You didn't mess with Wilf. He drove me forward and brought out a determination in me I never knew I had. He knew the most effective way to bring out the best in kids, although he had a super tough exterior I knew he wouldn’t have put all the effort in with us if he didn’t care. I’ll always remember Wilf and will continue to talk about him from time to time for the rest of my days.
RIP Wilf.
