Clare MargaretFINCHOn Wednesday 11th March 2026, during a stay in hospital for tests, Clare, formerly from Huddersfield, unexpectedly passed away, aged just 61.

Clare was a pioneering entrepreneur, acclaimed author, award winning founder and CEO, in her chosen field of financial sector training.

More importantly, Clare was the deeply loved wife of Andy, devoted mother of Mike and Alex and their partners Sonya and Nick plus besotted grandmother to Jude and Edie and newly arrived Grace Clare.

Grace arrived on the same day as the world said an unexpected goodbye to Clare, far too early for a truly wonderful human being, with the kindest soul.

Clare, formerly from Scar Lane, Golcar, was the cherished youngest child of Paddy and Pauline Tyrrell. Baby sister to Paul and Marie, both now deceased, she has left behind her devastated, older sister and brother, Karen and Brian and their respective partners Paul and Julia, alongside a whole host of nieces and nephews, grieving the loss of their much loved Auntie Clare.

Clare's family, many friends, students and colleagues will miss Clare beyond words and the financial training sector, will need others, to carry the passion and torch forward for accountancy, always with a twinkle of a smile.

There are just no words to say how much Clare will be missed.
I am so privileged to have worked with her for a number of years, she was truly inspirational (talented, so clever, also funny & above all kind) . She taught me so much & I am absolutely devastated that she’s gone.
Sincere condolences to her family-can’t begin to imagine the loss xxxx

Many years ago, I was struggling to pass my accountancy exams, I came across Clare’s wonderful book, A Student’s Guide to IFRS. That book gave me something I had been missing for a long time, belief in myself.

A week before one particularly difficult exam, I took a chance and emailed her out of the blue. I wasn’t her student, nor had I attended any of her courses, but I reached out anyway. Despite what I can only imagine was a very busy schedule, she replied. Not only that, she offered thoughtful, practical guidance that became invaluable to me.

On the day of the exam, I opened the paper and saw that the very first question reflected Clare’s number one focus tip. I couldn’t help but smile, thinking of her, as I began writing my answers with renewed confidence.

After I passed, I wrote to thank her, for her book, her kindness, and her willingness to help someone she didn’t even know. Her support played a real part in helping me qualify as a chartered accountant, and I will always be grateful.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with someone as generous and inspiring as Clare. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, her friends, and the many students whose lives she touched.

Thank you, Clare. May you rest in eternal peace.

We knew Clare when she was younger when we all used to go to Primrose Valley, Filey.
She was lovely to us & even got us an invite to her 18th Birthday Party although we were too young.

Our thoughts are with you all at this extremely sad time.

Lisa & Tracy Rawcliffe xx
