Much-loved father, a proud former military officer, he served with distinction in the British Intelligence Corps and remained deeply proud of his service throughout his life.

He leaves four children, who will always remember him with love and respect.

In his honour, a private remembrance will be held by his children, now he can finally rest in peace.

Although my absence tomorrow will be felt, my thoughts will be with my sisters and brother as you gather to remember dad. Knowing I had the chance to say goodbye before I left the UK and the long-distance conversations that we had is of comfort to me. Distance does not diminish the affection or gratitude I feel for all he gave us, and I will honour him quietly from afar.
