We first met Aldie when we moved to Mulbuie in 1989 and he was the postie. When I had a baby I often waited for the post as he always cheered me up with a wee story or a joke. He did a hilarious stand up routine for our Swiss neighbours golden wedding party at Mulbuie Hall. What brilliant craic he was.

When he saw the old bike I was doing the Highland Cross on he lent me his racer. The front wheel fell off when I got off in Beauly but it had been perfect until then!

He brought so much joy and cheer to so many people. What a tragic loss for his family and friends. We send our sympathy and condolences to you all and hope that your own good memories can sustain you through this difficult time. Andy and Fran. The Bield. Mulbuie.

Aldie my friend. It's been a strange week not speaking to you. I am missing our daily chats. You had the biggest heart and was always so kind to me. The world has lost a wonderful man. My heart goes out to your family and everyone who had the honor of meeting you. You will never be forgotten. Xxx

I will never forget the kindness Aldie showed to everyone who had the pleasure and honour to know him myself included.
His amazing sense of humour would induce the most enormous belly laughter what fun we had over the yard fence wonderful memories to keep.
Aldie was not only a gentleman but truly a character and as many have said "a legend...."
