'Dashin'
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Darryl Gibbons 'Dashin', who died peacefully on Saturday, the 6th of December 2025, at the age of 67. Beloved husband of Jacqui, loving father of Stephanie & Natalie, father-in-law to Ian, dearest grandad to Madeleine, Sienna, and Penelope.
Darryl's funeral service will be held at Markeaton Crematorium, in the main chapel, on Wednesday, 7th January 2026, at 10:00 am. A wake will follow at The Horseshoes, Long Lane, DE6 5BJ, where all are warmly welcome to join and share more memories.
At the family's request, family flowers only please. However, should you wish to make a donation in Darryl's memory, these will go towards supporting Ward 2 at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital. Donations may be made online or as you leave the chapel, and the family thank you for your kindness.

To Jacqui and family,

Deepest condolences on behalf of everyone at Friday Golf, past and present.

Dashin was one of us, a true gentleman and friend to all.

We will miss him, his wonderful wit, good humour and his huge slice.

I’m so sorry to hear of Dashin’s passing.

He was such a lovely man who was always close to my heart, even though we only met infrequently, due to me living in Quorn, Loughborough.
We did, however keep in touch, online, intermittently when the occasion arose and we would text each other about some sporting event, or other, on tv that we were both watching. It would always end with me having a chuckle to myself over Dashin’s dry comments. He was for ever making me smile, such a character.

I prise the framed sketches he commissioned for me when my team LCFC won The Premier League which sits in my office and will always remind me of the special person Dashin was.
RIP my friend.

Jacqui and family plesse accept my sincere condolences 💐 and I trust that you and your girls will find some comfort knowing that Dashin was so loved by so many.
