I was 17 when I started working at Vosper & Kivell in Liskeard for Reg Hooper and John Glanville. My father had recently died and we'd had to leave our farm and beloved dairy cattle. Working for agricultural auctioneers seemed like the next best thing. It must have been OK, as I was there for 24 years - during which time John was never anything but kind to me.  He was such a good, decent man - with high principles and a great sense of humour - rare qualities then and probably even more so now.  A true gentleman. Rest in peace John - reunited with your dear Sarah. Heartfelt condolences to all your family from Anthony and me.

It was such a pleasure to bump into John up the Stag Inn St Cleer we always seem to have so much to talk about and discuss, always had me reflecting on what was said on the walk back home. All our fondest regards to John and his family. Pincher and Jackie Martin
