Thomas FlemmingGLASSFORDLate of Fernigair.
11th June 1985.
40 years away from home. Some have went by quick and some really slow.
I've started to look into our family tree, with a few surprises along the way. I found out about Great-Granny Glassford, Nee Murray, and there's even a photo too. I wish you could have answered my questions, as I was an inquisitive child. Instead of your same reply, "I'll tell you another time"
My Father was born in 1912, lived through two world wars. That generation as we know, held their thoughts close to their chest. He was a family man, a kind man, a hard working man, holding down three jobs.
My fondest memories was going out with you in the big lorry and chopping and bagging up firesticks. I was honoured to bring you home in a wheel barrow as you had one too many drinks. As long as I have breath in my body, I'll always speak your name. You were a wonderful Father, you meant the world to me.
Love and miss you dearly. Your loving Daughter always, Patricia and Grandchildren Susanna (your Peggie-Sue) and Joseph from ULSTER xxx
