Jamie, your kindness and wicked sense of humour are sorely missed.

You were an incredible listener, patient and always let me ramble on about neon glass bending like it was the most fascinating thing ever. I remember one day I’d broken some of my tools and was sat outside, frantically ringing local welders. Jamie must’ve seen me stressing and simply said, “Bring it in, I’ll take a look.” I laughed, not realising just how multitalented he was.

The next day, like some kind of magical repair elf, he casually dropped a plastic bag on my desk, burner perfectly welded. No fuss, no speech, that was Jamie to a tee. Generous, humble, always there when you needed him.

Another favourite memory: Jamie helping me build a catio. I brought in my plans, which looked more like a feline fortress. He raised an eyebrow, probably wondering if I was hosting Cat Glastonbury, but helped fix my plans anyway, with humour, practical advice and the odd safety tip.

We miss you, Jamie. You really were one of a kind and a truly good friend.

It's hard to put into words the loss of Jamie Gooding. He was more than just a colleague; he was a true friend and my go-to banter partner. Jamie made me laugh every single day. Sometimes it was a full-belly laugh that had tears streaming down my face, other times it was just a knowing glance and a perfectly timed one-liner that would crack me up. He had a way of lightening even the most stressful days.
Beyond the laughs, Jamie was also an incredibly supportive and caring person. I'll always remember the times when I was struggling, whether with a work problem or something personal. He always seemed to know when I needed a comforting word or a listening ear, and he always offered both without hesitation. His kindness and empathy made a real difference, and I'll forever be grateful for his unwavering support.
The memories of our shared laughter and his genuine compassion will stay with me. Jamie, you'll be deeply missed by me and so many others. Rest in peace, my friend

I have fond memories of us in our earlier years as children, you were quite the gymnast :) As loved ones here feel your great loss, there are others on the other side full of joy for your reunion - your Dad, my Dad your Uncle Gerry, Nan and Grandad. I hope that wonderful reunion is of some comfort to your loved ones. Until we meet again……and meet again we will.
Love, your Cousin, Michelle Gooding x

I just wanted to say a few words about Jamie- a colleague, a friend, and one of the most genuinely kind-hearted people I’ve known.

Jamie worked with us at VRM Swansea for a number of years, and in that time he became so much more than just a colleague. He made everyone smile, even on the tough days- especially on the tough days.

He was a great listener and was always there with a quiet word of encouragement when someone needed it. He had a way of showing up for people without making a fuss, just being there in exactly the right way.

And then there was the fun Jamie. He really was fun. One example is when he came up with Sh17 Shirt Fridays!

I’ll always remember the day he turned up in a ‘cats in space’ shirt before we’d even started the tradition - just because he wanted to cheer everyone up.

That was Jamie: unfiltered, funny and unapologetically himself.

He was proud of his work and most of all, he cared about his teammates. It was clear that he wasn’t just showing up for a job — he was showing up for all of us, every single shift.

Even when I visited him in hospital, he was still talking about coming back. He promised me he’d be back in the office soon, he knew things were tough there and he wanted to help out. We both knew, in that moment, that he was just trying to be positive for me. That’s the kind of man he was.

He’ll be deeply missed but he’ll always be remembered. I wish that there were more Jamie’s in the world x x
