How lucky I have been to have you as my Godfather. You were such a vivid, special part of my childhood, and it has always been a true privilege to call you Uncle John. Trying to find the right words are hard, but you really were always a true gentleman, so caring and generous. I’m so grateful you got to meet Shane, it means more to me than I can say. England won’t be the same without you, but you will never be forgotten and I’ll always raise a glass for you.

I'll miss you 🩷 xx

I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to meet you just recently but unfortunately only twice. I can say that you were exceptionally kind to both myself and Anna (especially since you had to give the all clear for your Goddaughter to marry me). I found you to be an honest and forthright gentleman and I understand why Anna holds you in such high regard. I will miss not getting to know you better and going down to the pub for lunches with you and Carole.

We are so grateful to have called you our friend and the wonderful memories of the times we spent with you and Carole. Lots of laughter and celebrations and a few tears. We are sorry we are unable to be with the family. You will always be in our thoughts.

Dad, I’m struggling to find the words to describe the hole your passing has left behind. The space you filled in Mum’s life, in our family, and in my own heart feels impossibly quiet now. You were our constant, our strength, our guide, and our safe place. Though you’re no longer here with us, the love you gave and the lessons you taught will stay with us always.
