JulieHACKETTIt is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mum, Julie Hackett.
She peacefully passed away on the 5th of February 2026 after her courageous short battle with cancer.

Julie was loved by many, she lit up a room with her energy and her laughter was infectious, she left such an impact on everyone she met.

Her funeral will be held on Monday the 9th of March 2026, 12pm at Rushcliffe Oaks, NG12 2PY.

Her wake will then follow at the Air Hostess in Tollerton serving refreshments and where we will celebrate remembering a truly special woman. We invite those who knew and loved her to join us.

Black attire is preferred.

Please no flowers instead mums wish if you'd like to leave a donation to MNDA, an important charity close to her heart.

We miss her dearly but we know she is now well looked after, her late husband Mick who passed away from MND and her good friend Gaz who sadly passed a few weeks ago have started a party in heaven for her.

Nobody laughs like you and nobody hugs like you – the Julie bear hug was something else! So sad to think that the last time we both hugged you would be our last goodbye. You always managed to create Party Central whatever we were doing… the New Year Skyball party in 2015 will go down in history – TRULY AMAZING! Kermit the Skanker has had more holidays than Judith Chalmers HA! Oh what fun we had. A Hackett BBQ party delivered much more than food, drinks, friends and chatter – we all became “musicians” at your memorable gatherings. We had "Hey Harry" giggles and how many Stess Rockers can you get in a bath?! Thanks for the memories, you keep shouting ABBA! and we’ll keep shouting “WARPIGS” Missing you madly, Annie & Nigel (Craig) xxx

My beautiful Samantha J, taken far too early. I first met you 36 years ago, we married and had two wonderful children and had a fantastic life, and were the best of friends to the end. You died with dignity always with a smile and a sense of humour, you died without pain which everyone would wish for. No one knows what it is like to be given a death sentence, you lived with that from first being diagnosed last April. You still lived life to the full to the end.
Enjoy your life with Gaz until we come and join you for the big party. You have left a massive gap which will never be filled.
