Edith MaryHANDLEY(nee Edwards) Mrs Edith Mary Handley, aged 86 of Burnley Road East, Waterfoot, passed away peacefully last week in Blackburn Hospital after a short illness. Wife of Peter, Mother of Edward and wife Jenny, sister to Marjorie (who also passed away 28th April 2020). Edith was born in Balderstone in 1933 and later moved to Yate Farm on Shawclough Road with her late father Tommy who was the last to deliver milk with a horse and float in Waterfoot up until 1965. For a period of time Edith also worked at Globe Slippers. A service and cremation took place at Burnley Crematorium at 3pm on Thursday 14th May. There were only family flowers with donations in lieu of flowers and in memory of Edith to Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue. Funeral Director Michael Churnside.
