JamesHARDICKERof Baxenden, known and loved by many as Jim, sadly passed away in hospital on Friday, January 15, aged 80. Jim was born in 1940, spending a happy childhood growing up on his parents’ farm in Ribchester. He married his late wife Mary in 1970 moving to Stonefold Village, then moved to Hen Heads Farm, Baxenden, where he settled into married life, farming beef cattle and sheep, along with many free range hens that roamed freely around the farm. He spent many hours and days dry stone walling, a passion that had been passed down to him from his father, as well as taking on many roofing jobs for local farmers in the area. He leaves many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren and will be fondly remembered for his big smile and warm heart. A Requiem Mass will take place on Friday, February 5, at 10am at St Mary’s RC Church, Haslingden, officiated by Fr. John Broadley, following a burial at Haslingden Cemetery where he will be reunited with his wife Mary. Open to flowers, or donations in memory of Jim to Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue c/o funeral director Caroline HoldenDewhurst for Johnson, Durning and Woods Funeral Service, Haslingden.
