Michael WilliamHARVEYMichael William Harvey was born on the 3rd of July 1945, the second child
to William and Edna Harvey of Westbrook Farm, Kingsley and a brother to Ann and later to Pauline.

He had a happy childhood playing on the farm and attended
Kingsley Church of England Primary School and when he passed the 11plus he went to
Helsby Grammar School for Boys. He excelled at sports including football, rugby, cricket
and cross country every week which he said was strenuous running up Helsby Hill
and around the village. Terry Harvey mentioned recently that Michael was his hero at school
and wanted to be in his house team there which he eventually succeeded in doing.

Michael attended St John's Church, Kingsley and used to attend Sunday School and
sing in the choir. He was involved with the Youth Club run by Mr Rich and went on a
Youth Hosteling holiday the Lake District with them including his sisters Ann and Pauline.
A good time was had by all.

After leaving school, Michael trained with Rolls Royce as a Works and Cost Accountant.
He stayed in Bromsgrove with a Land Lady who used to call him "Duckie".
She used to be a good cook, did her shopping at Sainsbury, that is before
they had their shops up North and always had his meals promptly ready for him
when he arrived home from work.

Following on from that he had a job at Crossfields in Warrington where one morning
he had a bad accident driving to work having skidded on ice on the road in his red
sports car at Onston and collided with a bus travelling in the opposite direction.
Michael was 26 at the time and needed 100 stitches in his face in Warrington
General Hospital. The Doctors told his Mum and Dad that they had given their son a
strong skull and he had done well to survive. After that Michael moved South to
Hertfordshire where he worked for Prudential and later I B M in London.
He bought a house at Kings Langley in Herts and travelled into London from the
Station at Kings Langley.

Michael loved going to Race Horse meetings especially Great Yarmouth where he
visited every year on holiday. He also went to Cheltenham and Towcester and many
other venues. He preferred watching horses than actually riding them. The only time
he did get on a pony at the farm he said I am the Lone Ranger and put one hand in
the air and immediately fell off. That was the last time he ever got on a pony.
He loved his cars and kept them immaculately clean, inside and out. In Kings Langley
he had a few friends and went to the Church up his road for morning coffee and cake
and chatted to the ladies organising the event and being sociable with everyone
there and having a choice of one or more delicious cakes.

Michael enjoyed Indian cooking and on one occasion visiting his sister Pauline at
Oakmere went down to the Weaverham Indian takeaway and ordered a Vindaloo meal.

On arriving back at Oakmere he said what can I do?
I am burning up inside and feel so hot and sweat was on his brow.
Pauline gave him some Ice cream and that seemed to thankfully resolve the situation.

Michael lived at Kings Langley for quite a few years before being diagnosed with
Alzheimer's and moving into Amberside Care Home in Watford in March 2018.
He was cared for there exceptionally well and loved the food which the chef
prepared, Michael used to talk to him regularly about the food which he liked,
and enjoyed the company and singing at the home.

Michael was admitted to Watford General Hospital
and passed away on 30th September 2025.

Michael's Funeral is to take place on the 4th November
at Vale Royal Crematorium, Northwich, Cheshire at 12pm.
