MichaelHENSONMr Michael John Henson, of Springhill Avenue, Stacksteads, sadly passed away on Friday, June 17 at Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 71. He leaves his wife Lesley, daughter Liz, son-in-law Dave, granddaughter Darcy and sister-in-law Elaine. Mike retired in 2015 from Ernest Platt Limited where he worked as a sales engineer. He played Sunday School cricket in his younger days and was the 1st team scorer for Bacup Cricket Club from 2004 – 2013 which he took great pride in. He used to play golf and enjoyed fishing for many years. Since his retirement he took up bowls and played for the Rose ‘n’ Bowl both indoor and outdoor until last year when ill health prevented it. Mike was a former member of Bacup Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society, where he loved singing in the chorus. The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 30 at Trinity Baptist Church, Bacup at 1.15pm, followed by a committal at Burnley Crematorium at 2.30pm, led by Rev. Dave Bartram. Family flowers only with donations if desired, to Cancer Research UK (Bacup Committee) and the British Heart Foundation. Funeral director: Anthony Johnson Funeral Services Ltd, Bacup.
