He was also a proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to two.
The funeral service will be held at Bretby Crematorium in the Cedar service room

Following the service, a celebration of life will be held at Lakeside Bistro, Moira - Roger's favorite restaurant.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for the Derbyshire Carers Association, a charity from which Roger personally benefited.
Roger spent the majority of his career as a Scientist and Instrument Engineer for the British Coal Board, working across Nuneaton, Yorkshire, and Bretby. After working for the British Coal Board for 33 years, in retirement, Roger worked for the Bretby Wine Company delivering wine.
A well-known member of the Swadlincote Rifle and Pistol Club, Roger enjoyed the sport greatly, earning numerous trophies and medals. Roger's other passion was model railway, a hobby he began during childhood and continued throughout his life.
We will all dearly miss Roger-an unforgettable character with a wonderful sense of humour and an enviable love for life.
