MargaretHOLDEN(nee Stansfield), formerly of Barnes Avenue, Rawtenstall passed away on Monday, January 29 in Harrogate District Hospital, aged 82 years after a short illness, having moved out of the valley in 2021 to be nearer family.
Margaret was the beloved wife of John, sister to Kathleen, loving mother to Stuart, Philip and Suzanne and grandmother to Robert, Emily, Joshua, Toby and Natasha.
Margaret was brought up in Stacksteads before moving down the valley to Rawtenstall and was a secretary in the slipper trade finishing her career at J.F. Tomlinson (footwear) Ltd.
In the 1970s Margaret also managed the Stacksteads branch of Radio Rentals on Bacup Road. After retirement she regularly volunteered at the local Credit Union. Margaret was for many years a keen rambler and member of the rambler’s association spending most weekends in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales and in later years would enjoy the family static caravan near Kendal.
Margaret’s wishes were for an unattended cremation. She will be sadly missed by all.
