Stephen was a truly kind gentleman, one whose quiet goodness left a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His kindness was shown through very thoughtful gestures.

Stephen’s strength was gentle, his wisdom understated, and his presence reassuring. He had a way of making people feel comfortable and valued, offering warmth without expectation and generosity without condition. In a world that often moves too quickly, Stephen reminded us of the power of patience, decency, and compassion.

Stephen legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he shared so freely. His kindness continues to echo through memories, and stories. He will be remembered with deep gratitude and affection. The world is undeniably better for having had him in it.
I will miss our Zoom calls xx

Stephen Huxley was a very generous and kind man with a joyful laugh whom I remember with much affection. He and his wife Jean became dear friends of our family during the time he served as a curate at St Georges Cullercoats when my father was the vicar there. One memory I have is of them both coming to pick me up from school in Newcastle, which had closed early because it was such a wild and stormy day. It was exciting in those days to be picked up in a car and driven home. They made what could have been a scary journey into a big adventure. I was very pleased to be able to join Stephen and Jean to celebrate his 50 years of service as a priest. I have continued to enjoy hearing from him each Christmas, even this last year he sent a message to me. This comes with much love to all the family and my heart-felt condolences. Mary Chadwick

A lovely man who I came to know well when he served his first curacy in Eglingham, under my father. I kept in touch with the family for many years but sadly no longer. I send my sincere condolences and love. Anne Lindsley (nee Pawson)
