The obituary notice of Derrick JAMES

Derrick was always a devoted family man and friend, always offering his guidance and words of wisdom.
I am grateful to have known Derrick having been best friends with his son Gareth for many years.
I will always remember him for his strict presence having been in the Police force, but also for his kindness, humour and wit, as he offered us advice and guidance on life and on how to fix the cars that we were working on in his back garden. He Brought many a smile to our faces along with laughter, well not so much to Gareth’s sometimes as he knew his Dad was right and it was better not to use the hammer sometimes.
He will be deeply missed by his devoted family and many others but I’m sure he will continue to watch over them and his memory will remain forever present and he will continue to be a great inspiration to all.
With every memory to be forever cherished.

Not only just an amazing father and grandfather but the most amazing father in law anyone could ever dream of, you always made me feel like one of the family from the day we met. Thanks for your wisdom, time and laughter over the years and always having the time and the tool to help me fix my vans.

I know you will be missed by many but I will forever treasure the time we spent together and the terrible jokes we told. We really did laugh up until the end and I will treasure those last 13 days that we spent together the most. Until the next time Mr James
