The obituary notice of Eileen Margaret JELLIS (Kennedy)

Only just discovered this. So sad, she was an amazing teacher. I remember singing a song I'd heard over the weekend in her computer class on a Monday. It was in a film with Carmen Miranda, the "I, I, I, I like you very much!" She was shocked that I was singing it & then laughed! Lovely woman. I really admired her, on so many levels. A lot of pupils didn't like her, but that was because she was strict. I loved her. Bless you Miss, thank you for your service. Lifelong memories of summer holidays and visits to see Eileen and Geoff in North Wales that I will never forget. Incredibly kind, funny, clever and generous. She will be missed.

Mrs Jellis gave me inspiration, confidence, but most of all, self belief. She showed me the way to not only dream, but the steps to make that dream a reality. A simple thank you cannot convey my gratitude.

Mrs Jellis was my housemistress in Shaftesbury House at Ruffwood School. I was selected to go on a three week Outward Bound course when I was 14 yr old because Mrs Jellis put my name forward. An incredible experience. She had a huge impact on my life. An inspiring, firm, kind and caring teacher.

Like everyone who worked with Eileen ,we had a great respect for her myriad talents , but to us she was a friend ; witty , lively and great fun to be with. Julie and Colin Myers

A lovely lady. She possessed a great sense of of fair play and social justice and always a wonderful sense of humour. We wIll miss you dear friend.
