PeterKAVANAGHPassed away peacefully at Royal Derby Hospital on 22nd January 2026, aged 60 years.
Dearly loved father of Nathan, fiancée to Stephanie and a cherished grandad to Flynn, a much loved father in law to Paige, son to Mary and the late Jerry, a loving brother, uncle, cousin and role model to many.
Pete was a devoted Derby County fan and football coach for Sherwin Football Club for many years, football being a big part of his life.
Pete found comfort spending time with family and friends in his local pubs, The Norman Arms and The Oast House.
He would love walking with his black labrador Benson, stopping off at a few pubs on the way.
Pete's underlying caring personality, wisdom, character, advice and presence will be truly missed by all friends and family.
Peter will be received into St George & All Soldier Saints RC Church, Derby DE23 8SZ on Thursday 5th March at 6pm.
Requiem Mass will be held on Friday 6th March at 10.30am, followed by burial at Nottingham Road Cemetery, Derby DE21 6FN.

Blimey Pete, known you since we met when we're 12 at Tommy More's & we're both 60 now! You were always so calm & laid back. Sad to hear this news. Make sure you & Hev have a mega party up there until we all meet again x

R.I.P. Pete. Was a pleasure working with you at the L.R.C.H. Mostly us moaning about the Rams. Thinking of you and your family 🩵

Will miss the banter and jokes at work. Won't be the same without seeing you about for that chat and laugh.
Always had me belly laughing!
