I hope I am correct in that I worked with John at Crumpsall Hospital when he was a very bright Houseman on my ward If he is not the right person I am sorry however he sounds the same man.
We had to count tablets by hand (1967-1970) he thought what a waste of time and along those people (Pharmacist/Charge Nurses & others) he designed a counting machine for tablets which over the years has been in use and no doubt developed.
I am now 86 ( I went onto being Divisional Nursing Offer to Salford Health Authority) and enjoyed working with him in his early days.
(He did several other jobs before medicine which made him a great doctor my love and thoughts go out to his loved ones
