My Darling Alan I miss you . 8 years on & it really doesn’t get easier. You my darling were the love of my life, nobody has ever loved me like you did & nobody loved you like I still do. You were kind clever & so full of fun. My heart aches for you. Sleep tight my love until we meet again. Josie 💋

My first memories of Alan were of a young, fair-haired and cheeky-faced lad when I moved to Immingham with my family in the late 60s. Born of solid, hard-working stock it was inevitable that he would grow to be a caring, sincere and well-liked young man.

I say 'young' as - despite not having seen Alan for several years - I'm in no doubt that, even at 53, he remained a young-at-heart, open, friendly and witty character.

I also have no doubt that many who knew him best will now be mourning the loss of one of life's genuine characters - one who has left us prematurely.

God bless, Alan.
