Grandad Ray wasn’t just my grandad, he was my best friend and my biggest supporter. He showed a genuine interest in everything I did, always encouraging me and believing in my dreams. We shared a love of literature, and I’ll always treasure the conversations and laughter we had together.

I’m grateful to still drive the car he gave me, with his blanket inside — a simple reminder of our bond and the love he gave so freely.

He was a truly lovely, sweet, kind man who made my life brighter just by being in it.

I will carry his love with me always.

Our deepest sympathy to Joan, Karen, Paul and all the family on the passing of Ray. A lovely man and a true gentleman with many a tale to tell. Kev and I will miss Ray as we've known him for a long time especially at the Christmas gatherings as it was such good fun. Rest in peace Ray. All our love, Jean and Kev. xx
