Dad, you used to tell me that you’d live til 100 but didn’t quite make it at 84!

A few weeks before you passed I reminded you about the conker tree saplings that you grew and gave to me around 30 years ago. I planted them down by the stream in my garden in Cwmavon and they are thriving. I told you they’d be there for at least 100 years which brought a smile to your face :-) Whenever I want to talk with you I’ll speak with those trees and give them a hug!

I’ve refurbished your mother’s and father’s grave in St Michael’s church in Cwmavon as the gold writing had almost faded away. It took some doing but the perfectionist in me (like father, like son) did a grand job!
