Dad, Pappa Bear,

It’s taken me a while to write this because, truthfully, I still don’t understand why you were taken from us so soon, long before your time. Even though I only had 30 years with you, I consider myself one of the luckiest sons alive to have had you as my dad.

What a father I had and always will have. You live on in Rich and me, and your legacy will continue through us and your grandchildren, who you loved with all your heart.

I will always look up to you. And if I can be even half the father to Hughie that you were to me, I know he’ll be just fine. Meg and I will make sure Hughie always hears about his Pa, the brilliant man who loved him so much. I’ve never seen you so proud as the day you held my little boy. I’ll never forget the excitement of you having your first grandson and the love you gave him.

We’ll always be there for Mum and all I can say is thank you. Thank you for always putting us first, for always being there through every step of my life and the support you have given me, always being there cheering me on whether around the cricket boundary or in my everyday life. I love you so damn much and I miss you more than words can say. I just want a big hug as yours were always the best dad, and your words weren’t too bad either when I needed them. I could do with some now. I’m so proud to call you my dad and forever will be.

Love you always,
Michael xxxxx

Nigel - taken too sudden and too soon. Thank you for the stories about your trips to Germany to watch Harry Kane and your tips to avoid getting the yips on the putting green.

You will be terribly missed. The warm and welcoming “Uncle from Derby” is a loss for us all. Can’t believe you’ve gone, such a loss for our family. You will always be loved and remembered. Love Maxine, Chris, Millie and Sophia xx
