DorothyLISTERIt is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mum and Nana, Dorothy. Being born to parents Harry and Dora Newton in Stockport in 1925 and had a brother Arthur.

In 1954 Dorothy married Stuart and began her long and happy life in Woodsmoor. She worked at the local doctor's surgery and brought up her daughter Jean and son Simon, who she leaves behind, along with Grandchildren James and Jessica and daughter in law Jane.

Dorothy was a well known and respected lady who lived in the same home for over 70 years where she remained until she died peacefully on January 6 2026. Dorothy remained active, being a keen gardener, taking holidays and being part of the local women's guild. Dorothy was a keen reader, did the daily crossword and had pet cats to keep her busy. Many a hour was spent painstakingly completing cross stitch crafts, whist always offering warm hospitality to her many visitors over the years. Dorothy celebrated her 100th Birthday last February and took much pleasure from all the attention she received from family and friends at a much deserved celebration on achieving such a milestone.

Dorothy will be much missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing her through her wonderful life. The family would like to express the wishes that there is to be no attended funeral.
