Dearest dad,you were a great dad for all.ypur.faults, the older you got the more tolerant you got of other people's troubles and problems. With Steven turning out autistic you made the decision to train me as your drinking buddy honorary son and I have had many a great.afternoon or evening sharing a few real ales or a variety of spirits and mixers. The glengoyne I got you for Christmas mother gave to the piper that played after your funeral service as a thankyou gift. The Glenlivet whisky I gave you the previous Christmas mother gave me back and I've got a glass with pepsi and I've loaded your best hip flask with a bit for my travels to wee man tomorrow. A great dad and an even better drinking buddy, I don't know where you were coming from when you stashed the bottle of good port on with the bottles of cider you fetched last summer but I opened it early hours of my birthday to have my first drink on my birthday be from you. So sad the last week or two that you weren't here to enjoy the 80th anniversary of VE Day celebrations and commemorations as I know you'd have loved it like you've enjoyed every jubilee coinciding with your birthday month so you had a golden birthday, diamond birthday and platinum birthday. Love you always, your first and only daughter, Rachel xoxo 🐻
