JoyMARRIOTT(Whickham) Formerly of Swalwell

Peacefully at home on 11th March 2026 aged 79 years Joy.

Much loved wife of Alan, dearly loved mum of Paul and Suzanne, dear mother-in-law of Chris and Michael and beloved grandma of Ciara, Niamh, Lachie and Louis. Will be hugely missed by family and her many friends.

Funeral Service at Mountsett Crematorium on Friday 27th March at 1.15pm.

Would friends please meet at crematorium.

Family flowers only.

Donations for Macmillan Cancer Support may be left in the donation box at the service.

All welcome afterwards at The Gibside Hotel, Whickham.

Joy welcomed me with open arms. When I met her for the first time, despite being Derek’s fourth partner and from a foreign country, she made it so easy for me to settle in the UK. I respect Joy so much and really appreciate her kindness. Sasi x

My big sister has looked after me for more than 70 years. I regard Joy and Alan as my guardians and now she is my angel in heaven. Words can’t describe my feelings. Joy and Alan will always have a special place in my life and my affections. Derek
