MRS. M. HOOPER - - - ST BLAZEY GATE

Leekseed chapel was full for the funeral and service of celebration of the life of May Hooper who passed away on 3rd July Peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
The service was followed by committal at Penmount crematorium, the reverend Derek Balsdon officiated.

May was born at Goverseth Foxhole in 1915 daughter of Elijah and Sophia Solomon. In 1936 she married William, they went to St Blazey Gate to live and had 5 children. In 1960 William sadly passed away leaving May to bring up the children on her own.
She was affectionately known in the area as Auntie May and to many small children as Granny Hooper. She was very proud of her 5 children, 11 grand children and 23 great grandchildren. She took great pleasure in hearing about their achievements and was a pillar of strength to them in their sorrow. She was proud of being a Cornish girl and enjoyed anything to do with Cornwall.

HOOPER. The family of the late May Hooper thank everyone for cards and messages of sympathy on their sad loss. Special thanks to Doctor Hereward for his compassion to Mum, Jamie Hawke and Ken Newcombe and the Reverend Derek Balsdon for their help and support.

HOOPER Peacefully at home with her family on July 3rd 2007, May aged 92 years of St Blazey Gate. Beloved wife of the late Will, much loved mum of David, Angela, Morwenna, Rachel and Priscilla, a very dear grandmother and great-grandmother. Funeral service at St Leek Seed Methodist Church on Wednesday July 11th at 2pm, followed by committal at Penmount Crematorium, Truro. Family flowers only, but donations if desired made payable to Children's Hospice Southwest c/o Ken Newcombes Funeral Home, Bucklers Lane, St Austell. PL25 3JN or by the donations box at the service.

DEATH AND DYING R.I.P GRAN I WILL ALWAYS LOVE U. 1915 TO 2007. Thank you for the gift of love, now you're sharing it up above. You had many things to say. All in a caring way. You always saw good in everyone, No matter what they've done. You were always the one we could all lean on. Even though it must have felt like a ton. You were always the strength of the family. Now we must let you rest calmly. As we say goodbye, as tears roll down our eyes. I know your place in heaven has a good view. Because you're telling God, I need to keep an eye on a few. I know you will always be in our hearts and mind. So Grandma, I must go, but I'll never forget you're one of a kind.
