A man's man, admired,

You were more than loved,
You were who everyone wanted
To know, to be with.
You listened, you stood strong to
Let all who needed, lean on you.
Not just a rock but a root. Because
All who gathered, grew from you...
From the shade you offered,
From the warmth you radiated,
From the shelter you loved to provide.
Growing, from your example.

The principled bedrock for family, for friendship,
For safety, for right, for good.
Simply, kindness of the purest.

And there was more. So much more.
All for Mum.

Dad, you are my hero. It's tough without you but today especially. Father's Day, and a car show too! Would have loved nothing more than a wander and a listen as you tell me all those you worked on, drove or even owned. I miss you.
