Mr McDermott was my head teacher at Belton Primary 30 years ago and I still remember him vividly! So funny and kind. He loved us and we loved him. His memory lives on in those he taught. I consider myself privileged and proud to have called him my teacher.
God speed Mr McDermott, and thank you x

What an incredible man and an inspiring teacher. Had such an impact on me and my sister. Best teacher I’ve ever had and I’ve never forgotten, or ever will, his kindness and sense of humour. I’m so sorry to hear this sad news and send love and thoughts to his family and friends.
