Jean EdithMCDOUGALLPassed away on November 12th 2021, aged 87 years. Devoted and loving wife to the late Hector McDougall, deeply loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. The funeral service will take place at Boldmere St Michaels Church on Wednesday December 15th 2021 at 11:30am followed by interment. If I ever got the chance to visit Heaven, the first person I would look for is my Mom.

I would run into her arms like no time had passed at all.

I would tell her how much life changed after she left.
How there are still days when I feel completely lost without her.

I would tell her how much I miss hearing her voice.
How much I miss feeling safe.

There is something about a mother’s presence that makes life feel softer.
Warmer.
Easier to survive.

And when she is gone, the world can suddenly feel colder in ways nobody else understands.

I wonder sometimes if Moms in Heaven still watch over their children.
If they still worry about us.
If they still wish they could comfort us during our hardest moments.

Mom, if love could open the gates of Heaven for just one moment, I would spend that moment holding you close and never letting go.
