Kieran PaulMCGIBNEYKieran died peacefully, held by his loving family on 30th January, 2025, aged 40 years.

Devoted Dad to Mae Rose, Brother to Sean, Gregory, Ella and Donal, and treasured Son of Greg and Geraldine, Kieran was a true blessing to us all.

Kieran received exemplary care and support during his final days in the critical care unit at University Hospital Coventry and the family would like to express their deep appreciation to all the Doctors and Nurses there.

Kieran will be received into All Souls Church on the evening of Monday 3rd March at 6pm. The funeral service will take place on the morning of Tuesday 4th March at 11:15am followed by committal at Cannon Hill Chapel. Kieran mostly wore what he felt comfortable in so you're invited to do the same.

Kieran was a gifted student and musician who attended Coventry Preparatory, Christ the King Primary and Finham Secondary Schools in Coventry and St Leonard's Secondary School in Durham before going on to achieve separate degrees from Nottingham University and Kaplan Law School, London. Kieran worked for several Blue Chip companies and later volunteered at The Refugee Centre in Coventry.

For those who lost contact with Kieran over recent years, please be assured that you'll be warmly welcomed by the family. You can leave your contact details with Franklin & Hawkins and the family will reach out to you directly.

Family flowers only please. Kieran was a friend of Nanaksar Gurdwara Gursikh Temple. If you wish to make a donation in Kieran's memory, these can be left in the donation box at the exit of both the church and chapel, in support of the community food kitchen serving the people of Coventry.

Kieran,
You sat down next to me in that first A-Level French class, whispered an answer to me and that’s where we had our first proper hello.
Though life took us on different paths, the bond we shared was real and lasting. You were not just someone from my past—you were someone who shaped my journey, taught me lessons, and left behind memories that will never fade.
You had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. Your laughter, kindness, and presence filled a room with warmth. You were strong in spirit, generous at heart, and always carried yourself with a quiet strength that made those around you feel safe.
While our relationship changed over time, I will always be grateful for the moments we shared, the love we once knew, and the ways in which you enriched my life over the last 24+years. Your presence may no longer be with us, but your impact remains, woven into the hearts of everyone who knew you.
You have the most wonderful, caring, and welcoming family—who showed me nothing but love and kindness. I’ll always appreciate that. Sending so much love to you all.
Rest peacefully, Kieran. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Keep writing those songs and shining amongst the stars.
Love always,
Abbie xx

Kieran I was so saddened to hear of your passing. I know our lives had moved apart over the last decade and we lost touch but despite this in my memories you remain a loyal and loved friend. The years we spent together at university and the friendship we shared was special. I want to thank you for all the good times and moments we shared that stay with me as clear now as ever.

I will always treasure the memories and photos from our unforgettable adventure in India. It was there that I had the privilege of meeting your friends from Durham Greg, Owen, and Mark Clem and later, your brother Sean. That trip was truly magical, and it’s something I’ll forever hold dear to my heart.

It was an experience that gave me so much confidence, and for that, I will always be grateful to you.

I’ll miss you and think of you often.

RIP,

Mark Battersby

When I first met you, you were simply my best friend’s cousin. But over the past ten years, you became so much more—one of my most cherished friends and someone I truly connected with. Your kind heart, strong morals, and unwavering love for your family set you apart. You cared for others in a way that was rare and deeply felt.
Your absence leaves a void that nothing can fill, but your kindness, your music, and your laughter will stay with me forever.

You will be deeply missed x

Kieran, you were a great friend for so many years. We had so many fun times together, making mischief in secondary school, playing football at Waldridge together, early clubbing nights out. I was devasted when you left Nottingham uni, and so glad when you returned again. You were there to chat to, give and receive advice. That India trip was unforgettable. I feel joy reminiscing about the good times.

Your family was always so welcoming. I will miss you mate xxx
