MayjoMCGOWAN(nee Weir) Peacefully, at the Royal Infirmary Glasgow, on 6th April 2019, Mayjo, aged 79 years. Loving and loved mother, grandma and great-grandma to the family. May she rest in peace. Funeral Mass at 10am, on Tuesday 16th April, at St Margaret's Church, Airdrie, thereafter to Holytown Crematorium.

I remember Miss Weir being my primary teacher at St Andrew's burnfoot. While she was she got married to a doctor,I think, and became Mrs McGowan. I was only young but she was an attractive woman. Sorry but I can't remember anything about her teaching in the classroom but I'm sure it would sadden her to learn that a few of her former pupils passed away before herself. While she was there Bobby hendrie was the Jannie and Mr McFadyen was the headie. There was also a male teacher called Mr Reilly.
