Dearest Nana,
This year is your 100th birthday and I so wish you could have seen it, mainly for Elliott of course, but just to have you here would be so lovely. Thinking of you particularly this year, but you're never far from my thoughts, your ever-loving grandson xox

Dearest Nana,
Another Christmas and you're forever in our hearts and minds. Mum is with us this year and all is very cosy. It would be lovely to have just one more festive season with you but you're with us nonetheless. Elliott has his last Christmas at Temple (as head chorister!) and is also on the TV too!! You'd be so proud of him.
You'd also be proud of mum too, she's doing so well with everything she has to do and put up with.
Arlene was instrumental in saving her department at Cardiff so that's a big success for her too. As for me, I'm plugging away as usual, and as I know no better, will continue to do so!
Miss you so much and we all think of you fondly. Your ever-loving grandson. xoxoxox

Dearest Nana,
On this memorial day of your birth, when you would’ve been 99 years (!) you’re thought of just as much now as when you left us. Not a day goes by that you aren’t in my thoughts. My birthday was okay yesterday, and Mum got me some lovely cards, as did Arlene and Elliott of course. Elliott is almost 13 now and quite the young man. I know you’d be incredibly proud of him and try to spoil him rotten!
We moved into a new place and it’s rather lovely. Wish you could’ve seen it, as I wish you could’ve seen lots of things that have happened in this last 10 years - but in any case, you are remembered and very much loved still.
My love to you for ever, and love from Arlene and Elliott, and mum too (who’s a wonderful grandma herself!)

Dearest Nana,

I can’t believe, simply can’t believe, it’s 10 years since you left us. The pain might have lessened a bit, but there are still days I find myself very sad or crying. There are still days when I wish you were here to tell you things, successes, fears, Questions to ask. But don’t worry, which of course you can’t (!), I’m not doing too badly, neither is Arlene, and Elliott – well, Elliott is doing phenomenally. He’s growing into such a wonderful young man. And as for mum, she’s been amazing and put up with so much, and never gives up, never gives in. I’m so very proud of her, as you would be for sure.

Thinking of you all day, and every day, with much love from myself, Arlene, Elliott , and of course from Mum. Claudius isn’t quite the bird you knew, but he’s still going and he says rather loud hello to you!
