For Uncle Drew
From Airdrie’s streets where your story began,
A young lad with dreams, with skill in his hands,
You built something steady, something true—
A life stitched with care, just like you.
In your shop, where fabric and stories would meet,
You welcomed each soul that walked through your door,
With patience, with laughter, with wisdom so sweet,
You gave so much more than craft at the core.
Down in Yellowcraig, by Dunbar’s shore,
Where the wind hums softly and the waves roll in,
You found your peace, your quiet once more—
A place where your heart could settle within.
Uncle Drew, your kindness will never fade,
In every thread and every life you’ve touched,
In memories warm that you helped to create,
You gave us all so much.
Though you’ve journeyed where we cannot yet see,
Your spirit remains in all that we do,
In every laugh, in every memory—
We carry a part of you.
Rest easy now, your work is done,
But your story lives on in each of us still,
A beloved uncle,
Forever & always remembered,
