David Campbell AllenMERCERPeacefully in hospital surrounded by his loving family on 26th November 2018, Allen aged 71 years of Gt. Harwood, and formerly of Belfast and Brussels. The devoted and much loved husband of Charlotte, loving dad of Lynne and Ewan, dear father-in-law of Michael and Gemma, dear son-in-law of Carol and Geoff, cherished brother of Liz and Maggie. Allen was a Consultant in Education and Training, employed by the European Commission. His work took him across Europe in a role that he loved and he was passionate about the people he could help. A keen cricketer, Allen played cricket in his younger years and later became an avid spectator, enjoying all sports. He loved good food and wine and enjoyed making his own culinary creations as well as dining out. He enjoyed music too and was a former member of a group. Allen's funeral service will be held at St Bartholomew's Church, Great Harwood on Thursday 6th December 2018 at 11.15am followed by committal at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only please and donations may be made in memory of Allen to a charity of your own choice.
