Charles FitzhardingeMILLERA Nantwich and Stapeley resident for 55 years, passed away peacefully in Leighton hospital on Sunday July 27th, his 97th birthday.
He ran a successful garage business in Nantwich for nearly 25 years; was a member of the local Rotary club and in later years also of the Nantwich Probus club and the bowls club.
Husband of 48 years to Jean, who passed away in 2000; father of four sons and grandfather to four grandsons and three granddaughters. Before moving to Nantwich in 1970 he lived near Leek, not far from the village of Endon, where he spent his formative years. He much enjoyed visiting north Wales, especially Llandudno (where he was briefly an engineer for the Post Office, before his marriage); also Conwy and Deganwy, where he kept a motor cruiser moored.
His funeral will be held at St Luke's Church, Endon, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday 3rd September, followed by cremation at Carmountside Crematorium in Milton and then a wake at "Lockside at Greenway Hall", Stockton Brook.
A donation to the RNLI would be preferred in lieu of flowers.
