Iain was my first friend. We met aged 3 at nursery, and spent a lot of our childhood and youth together. Making model airplanes, causing mischief with air guns, growing up outside. As we reached our teens, our shared love of punk and post punk kept us close through those changing years. Like so many, we lost contact until around ten years ago, when a school reunion brought us, and a couple of other old friends) back together. We got to relive some of our youth by performing punk covers together, and reminiscing. His memory was incredible, as he reminded us of long forgotten days. Until the end, and his declining health, he would still look at me with that mischievous, sideways glance. - A glint in his eye, and breaking into that infectious laugh. I’ll miss him, but fondly remember the great times we shared.
