PeterMORRISPeter was 87 years old and died peacefully at home in Milnrow on 13th September 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Dearly beloved Husband of Pamela, much loved Dad of Gillian, Joanne and Alison, treasured grandad of Peter, Christopher, Sarah, Georgina and Robert and great grandad to Indie & Piper. Highly respected Father-in-law of Tony, Chris and Michael.
Peter was born in Salford but due to wartime tragedy was brought up in Newhey. He trained as a butcher with his own shop in Littleborough, served his National Service in Cyprus as a chef in the Army but worked for 30 years on the motorways, helping to build the M62, becoming Foreman at Milnrow Depot and ending as a Motorway Inspector. In retirement he became President of Ladybarn Bowling Club and was well known around Milnrow & Newhey for his good humour and for being a good bloke'. Peter will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Springhill Hospice.
